The Chronoswiss DNA
Modern Mechanical
MODERN MECHANICAL
Chronoswiss is a modern mechanical watch brand: the symbiosis of horological know-how, nonconformist designs, modern materials and classical artisanal mastery. We don’t try to turn back time – we simply back up our time with classical handicrafts to elevate our instantly recognisable, contemporary timepieces. Our resilient horological machines are made by and for the 21st century.

DESIGN
You know a Chronoswiss watch when you see it thanks to its strong design features: a fluted bezel, prominent onion crown, three-dimensional display, modern materials, atelier-made guilloché and enamel dials. Chronoswiss designs are made by nonconformists for nonconformists who want to stand out in an increasingly mass-produced world.

REGULATOR
Regulator clocks, the atomic clocks of yesteryear, have always been looked to for extreme precision – be it for 1920s radio broadcasting or 1770s ocean navigation. In 1987 Chronoswiss accelerated the concept of a large central minute hand and separated hour and second indications. How? By taking the extremely user-friendly legible regulator to the wrist. Just like the meters in a car are divided, we think of the regulator watch as the dashboard of time.

ATELIER LUCERNE
What could be more valuable than an object made by human hands? While the know-how for a number of crafts is finding fewer and fewer outlets, Chronoswiss is taking a different path – we see it as our duty to remain custodians of artisanal values. Thus we have developed our own atelier in Lucerne for hand guilloché, enamelling and skeletonising.

SKELETONISING
For more than 30 years Chronoswiss has been a specialist in skeletonising with a modern twist. For us this genre ranges from highlighting key points such as open gear trains to cutting away as much as possible to create extremely see-through timepieces with contrasting materials.

GUILLOCHÉ
Handmade guilloché dials give our watches an emotional sparkle. With the force of the guillocheur’s steady hand, the geometric patterns from our near-century-old machine – every single dial is a unique achievement, a complex adaptation of a master’s craft. For increased lustre we coat our guilloché dials with modern materials or grand feu enamel – our watches are made by and for the demands of the 21st century.

ENAMEL
To seal a dial with 6-7 layers of clear or coloured glass powder you must be a patient alchemist. The process is complex and sometimes requires multiple attemps, since only perfectly smooth dials are allowed to reach the wrists our customers. And the effort is worth it – by sealing a dial in a 1000°C oven we know that its unique lustre will remain unscathed for millennia to come.

FUTURE
Established in 1983, Chronoswiss has grown into an exclusive, high-end Swiss Made mechanical watch brand. In the years to come we will introduce even more complex models and movements. In short: Chronoswiss will continue to create modern mechanical timepieces that will, if you look after them, last forever.
